Concerned academics who want change.
NWOugh is an initiative of concerned academics: researchers and lecturers at Dutch universities and research institutions, at every career stage and across many fields. What unites us is the experience that the current way of funding research costs too much time, money and talent — and delivers too little in return.
We want a funding system that serves researchers instead of obstructing them: faster, simpler, fairer and more transparent, with decisions as close to the science as possible. Our proposals are set out in the Agenda for Change.
For now, we do not publish names. Many of us depend for our careers on the very funding we criticise. That dilemma is itself part of the problem.
